Here in the United States, fireworks are used mostly for 4th of July. In Poland, they are used for pretty much any occasion that is worth celebrating. New Years season seems to have by far the most of attention but anytime there is opening of a local super market, some kind of a concert or party, fireworks are there. I have seen them used quite often at the weddings.
They are not cheap but for sure they can add even more excitement for the guest attending.
Few years ago when I went to visit my native country, in one of the castles outside of Poznan they were preparing for a wedding. It was really neat, since the fireworks were being set up in a valley and castle had a huge balcony with all bunch of chairs already set up for the show. I haven't stayed for the wedding, but from what I've seen it had to be amazing.
