Wianki - Flower Head Pieces

Flower head pieces are really iconic for Polish culture. In Polish history girls and young women always wore them for special occasions. They are not only a symbol of freshness and youth but also a beautiful addition to any outfit. They are usually made out of commonly found flowers growing on the fields. Which is why they are so colorful!  Today, often they are forgotten.

I've made before flower pieces out of spray roses, delphinium and ivy. It is possible to make them any color you would want. I would just recommend matching them with your bridal bouquet just as our bride, Basia has in the pictures below.

Flower girls look beautiful wearing them as well. Think about using flower head piece instead of small flower bouquet that they would normally carry.
